Missing New York Right About Now by Christopher Myers

Sitting here in what is already becoming sweltering heat before winter is over in Southern California, I'm dreaming about snow or someplace colder than here. The cold isn't always fun, but when you've lived in Southern California for a majority of your life the lack of weather begins to degrade your soul. You yearn for it. Anything to break up the monotony of sun. I presume when I grow older I'll seek it out, but right now, I need change. I left the East Coast just before the arctic blast settled in and I'm sorry I missed it. I did live in the mountains for a brief period with 20-something feet of snow and I miss every minute of it.
